The little things in my life are what matter most! But first a reason for being MIA. (Skip to next paragraph if you really don’t care lol)
The past month I have “disappeared” as one of my readers has so kindly put it. Reason being that my laptop is dead. Gone. Done. Deceased. Nada. None Functioning. Killed(by old age, not me). And the list goes on. So I thought, hey, why not blog from my blackberry. Well, no videos have been up loading (if you can help me figure this out please private msg me). So now I type to update my readers (hi mom and dad) about my mini or major adventures. (check facebook- maria-jose bouey, or my twitter mjbouey, or just keep reading.) So the ever so anticipated update continues! Thanks for waiting oh so long!
…Now where was I….riiggghhtttt the small things in life.
So for those who have not noticed, are new or don’t get my humor, I have been doing “this” hospital stuff for a while now. More specifically my whole life. From birth on I, along with my family, have had to face challenges with my health. Or as I like to call them “Adventures”. I mention this for a reason. These adventures soon became journeys, obstacle courses, jungles, quick sand and much more. So the best way to take them, as adventures. Once getting the “hang” of it, I soon thought of them as things that don’t define me. I would turn it around and define them. So now my adventures vary from what to wear post surgery (rather than ugly gowns in a variety of “puke” shades) to seeing how much a dialysis patient can really do without letting people know that I am on dialysis! Or going against doctors ideas of normal. Aka, working. I not only work at Starbucks, but babysit 3 awesome kids , and volunteer, go dancing, sleep, eat and do dialysis, sometimes all in one day!
So this past month I have done juuussttt that, and a few extra! I had a wonderful adventure at African Lion Safari with the kids, where not only did I pet goats, eat junk, ride a boat, and see animals! I was photographed RIDING AN ELEPHANT!!!! …. Ok for those who have done this in Asia, I know its not as cool, but for now ILL TAKE IT!!! It was to say the least the best 1 minute of my life! Who would have guessed a dialysis patient would be found on a elephant! ..it was great and everyone should go find the closest elephant and say “wazzupp”. Moving on. I had a 2page spread in Faze Teen Magazine (canadas #1 teen mag) Courtesy of the extraordinary Morgan Dunlop!!! I am still in shock! I dyed my hair chocolate (pictures up soon)! Andddddd drum roll please! I have been officially re approved for my kidney transplant!!!! All amazing things! So time line for transplant is December/January!! More details to come.
Anyways will type more soon!
Thank you from the deepest part of my heart to all my readers, family, friends and inspirations. Without you all I would not keep going!
