Do you know why your first kidney lasted ten yrs? I was under the impression that they could last much longer I saw you on you tube and I think you are just awesome!!
For starters thank you for the question, and sorry for the late response!
My kidney lasted just under 10 years, they believe it was because of long term minimal rejection. However with that said it was over night and chronic. Meaning there was no reversing the damage shown.
As for the life span of a transplant. you are right, they usually last longer, however with that said the average transplant is 12-15 years. Some are shown to last MUCH longer, even more then 30 years!
